The Soulanges bike path (route verte #5) runs along the canal for the first 23 kilometres, allowing visitors to discover and appreciate the many basins and historical features of the canal.

Surrounded by different bodies of water and natural landscapes the Park also offers the possibility to practice kayak, SUP, hiking, and even yoga!

Arts and culture enthusiasts can marvel at photo exhibitions and public art, as well as cultural and community events that take place throughout the summer!

Our regional park

The Soulanges Canal was initially defined as a regional park in the land use plan of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RMC in 1997. In its path, the regional park includes the shores of the Soulanges Canal, the Petit pouvoir site in Les Cèdres, and the Ateliers and Parc nature sites in Pointe-des-Cascades.

In 2015, the MRC established a new vision for the development of the Soulanges Canal and discussions with the MTQ began. In 2021, historical agreements were signed between the MRC, MTQ and municipalities bordering the canal, which officially launched the operations of the Parc du canal de Soulanges organization.

Quebec Regional Parks

A regional park is a natural space developed on public or private territory. Its establishment, made possible under the Loi sur les compétences municipales, is born from a local or regional initiative. Its main purpose is generally outdoor recreational activities and recreotourism, and it serves a local, regional and touristic clientele.

The Parc du canal de Soulanges is a proud member of the Association des Parcs Régionaux du Québec. This association aggregates, represents and promotes locations for accessible outdoor recreational activities and recreotourism to promote a healthy lifestyle through different quality experiences, in a safe setting.
