Job posting – Operations and Program Coordinatior
The Soulanges Canal Park preserves and enhances the natural and heritage resources of its territory for the benefit of citizens and visitors, by offering a safe environment that encourages the practice of leisure and outdoor activities and the discovery of a variety of experiences. The main attraction of our park is the Soulanges bicycle path, a first class multifunctional network in Vaudreuil-Soulanges.
We are currently looking for a dynamic individual interested in filling the position of Operations and Program Coordinator. A stimulating challenge for any field-oriented candidate with a passion for the outdoors, culture and heritage!
Your mission
Program (activities / events) and user services
- Plan, coordinate and document activities and services offered to the public in the Park (outdoor equipment rentals, sporting events, heritage activities, cultural and educational programming, etc.).
- Coordinate activities and mandates related to operations on the Embouchure terrace.
- Ensure that programming activities are safe and comply with applicable standards.
- Plan seasonal human resources needs (8 to 10 people on average), recruit, train and supervise those in the department, as well as volunteers or temporary employees (if any).
- In collaboration with the team, set up and dismantle activity sites, as well as purchase and repair materials and equipment required for activity programming.
- Manage the organization’s booking platform and online store.
- Coordinate budgets with the department, analyze the profitability of the various activities and suggest areas for improvement.
- Develop collaborative projects with local, regional or national stakeholders in recreation, culture and tourism as well as with local businesses and community organizations.
- Supervise and monitor the reception and orientation of visitors and cyclists in the park.
Operations
- Contribute to Soulanges Canal Park’s communications activities (social media, press relations, website, etc.) and supervise external suppliers in this regard.
- Act as a focal point for public inquiries and interactions with citizens, directing requests to the right people in the team and following up as required.
- Support general management in preparing and monitoring annual budgets.
- Work closely with the accounting department (external via Développement Vaudreuil-Soulanges) on monthly and quarterly budget tracking for the entire team.
- Coordinate requests for quotations, contracts and follow-up on mandates for certain external contracts, including security and prevention, photography, promotional material and communications and marketing.
- In collaboration with the team, develop and update dashboards to ensure that key development and maintenance activities and projects are on time and on budget.
- Monitor funding programs and coordinate grant applications with the department.
- In collaboration with the team, plan operations on a monthly, weekly and daily basis to optimize the use of resources.
- Writes and updates the department’s operational policies and procedures.
- Support the team in drafting annual reports and analyzing activities carried out.
Profile and requirements
- College or university degree (preferred): tourism, recreation, regional development, cultural animation, or any related field.
- Minimum experience of three (3) years in a similar position.
- Demonstrate strong coordination and team-building skills, particularly with student and/or seasonal employees.
- Be dynamic and resourceful.
- Willingness to get involved in the field with park employees and visitors.
- A strong sense of customer service and outdoor safety.
- Demonstrate political acumen and ease of communicating with a variety of people.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously, on time and on budget.
- Know how to work in concert with various municipal, private, government and community partners.
- Demonstrate a very good knowledge of French (oral and written) and good knowledge of English (oral).
- Valid driver’s license.
- Detailed knowledge of the Vaudreuil-Soulanges region (an asset).

Conditions
- Permanent full-time position.
- Be available evenings and weekends, especially during the summer months.
- Competitive salary (between $65,500 and $80,100 annually, depending on experience and profile)
- 35-hour weeks spread over 5 days, with flexible working hours.
- 3 weeks’ vacation starting in the first year, personal and statutory vacations, offices closed during the holiday season;
