Drawing project – My restless brain with Sonia Isabelle

The Soulanges Canal Park is proud to announce the first programming of its Placottoir space. In fall 2023 and spring 2024, we’ll be offering a series of heritage-themed art workshops and talks in this one-of-a-kind outdoor space!

Sonia Isabelle will be at Placo on October 08 from 10am to 12pm. Passionate about the status of women in Quebec, Sonia Isabelle offers a drawing workshop on the theme of the mental burden borne by today’s women. Participants will be able to immerse themselves in this cultural mediation revolving around the reality of mothers and their daily lives. Starting with a large-format portrait of a woman at the sketching stage, those present will illustrate with graphite pencil all the thoughts that cross their minds. The artist will share techniques and guide the completion of the activity.

The workshop is open to the public and free of charge. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned artist, his workshop will give you the opportunity to create and leave with a unique and lasting work of art, as well as a chance to chat with the artist. All materials are provided, so all you have to do is show up with your creativity!
