The Vaudreuil-Soulanges region
Vaudreuil-Soulanges has an authentic heritage and our proximity to the water gives us majestic landscapes. Our local farmers are welcoming and love to share their local products, rich in flavours. Here, we like to play outside and our vibrant cultural attractions inspire creativity.
Along the canal, you’ll go through the municipalities of Pointe-des-Cascades, Les Cèdres, Coteau-du-Lac and Les Coteaux. Each one has its own hidden gems.
See you soon?
Pointe-des-Cascades
The Municipalité du Village de Pointe-des-Cascades has a lot of hidden treasures. It offers charming landscapes thanks to the surrounding land and water. A network of walking trails can be found there, as well as the kilometer 0 of the Soulanges cycle path. The Soulanges canal goes through the town centre, which gives it a very unique vibe.
Here, the town’s maritime history is quite alive. The Parc des ancres, located at the heart of the village, has artifacts that will impress young and old.
Les Cèdres
Located on the shores of the Saint Lawrence river, this farming municipality is loaded with architectural buildings from the pas, as well as jewels dating from the 19th and 20th centuries. Go along the chemin du Fleuve by bicycle as part of the Soulanges canal circuit. You’ll discover vineyards, café-bakeries, art galleries, clay pigeon shooting range, a wharf with an amazing view of the river, an electric river crossing, and much more.
50 kilometers from downtown Montreal and 30 kilometers from the Ontario border, let yourself be inspired by the beauty of the landscape and the warm hospitality of the Les Cèdres people.
Coteau-du-Lac
Coteau-du-Lac offers a perfect balance between rural life and urban life. It offers you, in its heart, a theater and a great variety of restaurants. During the summer, open air shows, water activities and kayak and SUP rental animates the village core.
Coteau-du-Lac is also a local pantry waiting to be discovered. Vineyard, artisan bakery, produce farmers, sunflower field, all within a 5 km radius from the canal and cycle path.
Les Coteaux
In Les Coteaux, nautical landscapes are omnipresent by the many parks along the rue Principale as well as the Louis-Stanislas-Pariseau park. Located at the West extremity of the Soulanges Canal, this park allows you to admire the alignment lighthouse, many sailboats as well as the famous wooden bridge that lights up at night.
Gift shops, ice cream parlors and “grillades” are accessible in the town centre, only a few meters away from the Soulanges cycle path. To end the day on a high note, the Great Wharf is a must to watch the sunset.
This website was put online by Développement Vaudreuil-Soulanges as part of its mandate for the development, animation and promotion of the Soulanges canal. DEV would like to thank the many partners who make possible the various projects concerning the canal since the start of the interventions in 2018.
