ArchéoTour by Kayak with Parcs Canada

Join the ArchéoTour kayak and paddleboard tour on July 5 and experience a unique guided adventure on the calm waters of the Soulanges Canal, discovering its rich historical and archaeological past.

Starting point: Stationnement Les Cèdres (Saint-Féréol) Access via chemin Saint-Féréol, north of chemin du Canal / route 338..

Activity description

Parcs Canada’s expert guides will accompany you on your tour of the Soulanges Canal, sharing a wealth of information about the site. The program includes visits to historic locks and the remains of ancient structures. Interactive workshops on archaeology and historical research will also enrich the experience.

• Reasons for building the Soulanges Canal and opposition to the project
• Construction issues
• The 5 locks and swing bridges
• Electrification of the Soulanges Canal
• Canal closure and reasons for closure
