Êtres moléculaires of Sonia Habertich @ L’Embouchure

For the first weekend of August, L’Embouchure welcomes the work Les Êtres Moléculaires, by artist Sonia Haberstich. Les Êtres Moléculaires is a series of human silhouettes laser-cut in sheets of transparent Plexiglas and covered with fluorescent pigment and epoxy pellets. The set will be exhibited at L’Embouchure for its opening weekend.

Colorful during the day, the silhouettes change appearance at nightfall, bringing out their fluorescent nature in the dark. A magic moment!

About Sonia Haberstich

Sonia Haberstich lives and maintains her practice in Hudson, Quebec. She obtained a Master’s degree in painting from Concordia University in 2008. She has participated in numerous significant solo and group exhibitions in Canada and abroad. These include the following exhibitions: Incandescence at VOART in Val-d’Or (2020), Uprising at the Raymond-Lasnier Exhibition Center in Trois-Rivières (2015) and at the Mont Laurier Exhibition Center (2017), Uprising at Arnica Gallery in Kamloops (BC), (2018), Accepting Disorder at the McClure Gallery in Montreal (2016), Just painting at Artmandat, in Barjols, France (2009) and Sir Pompon at the Museum of Contemporary Art in St-Jérôme (2009).

She has also been the recipient of several grants, notably from SODEC and CALQ, and has produced several public works, some of which have been selected as part of the architecture integration program (1%). His works have been the subject of numerous publications and have been included in several recognized collections in North America and Europe.
